Valerie Poe

2nd grade

Mrs. Poe has lived in Redmond with her husband Wes for over 40 years.  They have 2 children and 7 grandkids. She came to Central Christian 20 years ago hoping that she might be able to serve as a substitute but the 2nd grade class was in need of a teacher to finish out the year. By God's providence 2nd graders have always been her favorite age to teach and that's where she's been serving ever since!

She has a Bachelor's degree in elementary studies from Western Oregon University.

Mrs. Poe shares "I love to watch my students become excited when they have a light bulb moment. All of a sudden they realize that they get it! It is fun to listen to each one read aloud and use expression and maybe even different voices for different characters".
