Stephanie Hentze

5th grade

After finishing her undergraduate degree, Mrs. Hentze taught 5th and 6th grades for two years at a Christian bilingual school in Honduras. Since then, She has primarily taught middle school math. She worked in Salem middle schools from 2007-2021 as a math teacher, Spanish teacher, and instructional coach. For the past two years, she was a math and Spanish teacher at Grizzly Mountain HomeLink in Prineville, where she worked closely with families and supported parents as they taught their children at home.

She has a Bachelor's of Ars in Spanish and Christian Ministries from Messiah College in Pennsylvania, and a Master's of Arts in Teaching from Willamette University with an emphasis in math and Spanish education.

Mrs. Hentze shares "I am excited to dive into 5th grade math. I love helping students make connections between things they have already learned and applying their knowledge to new situations. We used the Singapore Dimensions curriculum while we homeschooled, and I appreciate how it teaches students strategies for making complex problems concrete. I am also looking forward to incorporating the truth of Scripture into our classroom conversations and helping students consider how everything in the world - from the patterns and structure of math to the balance of systems in science - point us to know and love our God who created it all!"
