Redmond Food Project Volunteer Spotlight

Redmond Food Project Volunteer Spotlight

CCS Students - Kenan, Kylie, Teagan, and Shanna

Meet Kylie.  Kylie is a Senior and Student Council President at Central Christian School.  Her school participates in a program called Teaching for Transformation where students are provided opportunities to engage in "real work that meets real needs for real people."

She reached out to us a few months back to see if there were any volunteer opportunities with Redmond Food Project.  We replied with an enthusiastic “YES!”.  We then met with Kylie and members of the Student Council and came up with a plan to have the students rally all CCS students and families by hosting two separate all school food drives for two Redmond Food Project collection days per year. (April and October) They also agreed to stand by as back-up help during collection when needed.

Kylie will be attending Westmont College in Santa Barbara in the fall.  She is planning to study Behavioral Neuroscience and Religious Studies. Her plan is to become a traveling pediatrician, revealing God’s love through medicine and intentionality. Her hope is to help children feel valued and seen in places where those opportunities are lacking.

We are so grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment Kylie and the other young “future leaders” at CCS have shown in helping their neighbors in need.
